Greetings! LaughingMistletoe here.
This thread was created for the purpose of troubleshooting login issues. It will be updated as more answers/problems are discovered! If you happen to know of a bug that isn't on here, post it below, and I will add it to this thread along with the best answer I have to the problem.
Unable to log in: Enabling cookies?
You may have come to this thread because you were unable to log in to Talviara and were directed to the forums to find help in regards to cookies.
In order to use Talviara, you must have cookies enabled in your browser.
What are cookies? Cookies are stored in your computer when you visit different websites. Cookies help authenticate/validate a user when they log on to a secure website like Talviara. Talviara uses session cookies. Session cookies act as a sort of "bookmark" to allow a user to return where they last left off so they do not have to navigate through everything all over again.
So, how do I enable cookies then?
Here are step-by-step procedures for enabling cookies, depending on your browser:
Internet Explorer:
>Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Internet Explorer.
>Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
>Click the Privacy tab, move the slider to the level of privacy that you want to set, and then click OK.
Mozilla Firefox:
>Click the Firefox button at the top left of the browser window.
>Click Options...
>Change to the Privacy Settings.
>Firefox cookies - Privacy
>Set "Firefox will:" to "Remember history".
>Firefox cookies - Remember History
>Click "OK".
Safari:
>Pull down the Safari menu
>Select Preferences
>In the Preferences window, select the Security icon.
>(There are the cookie controls in the middle) you can choose to select "sites I navigate to" "always" or "never". It usually works best if you select "always"
Chrome (for versions 23 or newer, it is recommended that you download the newest version of Google Chrome)
>Click the settings button (three horizontal lines in the top-right corner:)
>Click Settings
>Click Show advanced settings (at the bottom of the page.)
>In "Privacy", click the button Content Settings
>You can now choose from:
Automatic cookie handling (recommended)
>>In the section entitled "Cookies" select the option "Allow local data to be set"
Add exceptions manually
>>Click the button Manage exceptions...
>>In the column entitled "Hostname pattern" type timeanddate.com into the text box
>>In the column entitled "Behavior" select "Allow"
>Click Done.
Hope this helped!
